Professional Career

I am a Consultant Surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register with over 10 years of experience across the NHS and private healthcare sectors in the United Kingdom and Portugal. I have held Consultant positions in emergency, colorectal and general surgery and have extensive experience managing complex surgical patients within multidisciplinary teams.

Driven by a strong interest in improving the quality of life of patients living with chronic and often under-recognised conditions, I developed a particular interest in lipedema. I am passionate about helping women affected by this condition regain mobility, reduce pain and improve their overall wellbeing through comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment.

I have completed specialist training in lipedema surgery in Germany and am dedicated to providing safe, compassionate and patient-centred care.

Experience and work in the field of lipedema

I developed an early interest in lipedema during my surgical practice treating patients with chronic venous and lower limb conditions, where a significant number of women presented with symptoms that were later recognised as lipedema.

To further develop specialist expertise in this field, I undertook dedicated training in lipedema surgery in Germany at one of the world’s leading centres for the treatment of lipedema. During this programme, I trained alongside internationally recognised experts and gained experience in patient assessment, surgical planning, advanced lipedema liposuction techniques and multidisciplinary peri-operative care.

My approach combines specialist lipedema training with more than a decade of Consultant-level surgical experience within the NHS and private healthcare sectors, ensuring a strong focus on patient safety, clinical governance and individualised care.
